Tags are a very powerful feature that give you the flexibility to segment your members into groups that make sense for your business. You can create a tag for anything that you’d like to keep track of in your business, for example: Silver & Fit memberships, executive memberships, promotional deals (such as Groupon or Living Socal), or anything else you can imagine that would make a good segment. For information on how to create tags, click on this link.

Some of the reports specifically designed to assist you in segmenting your memberships are available under the Account Reports tab on the reports menu:

The Tag Counts report shows a breakdown of all your currently active accounts and memberships and how they have been tagged:

You’ll notice that there are four columns on the report, the first column is the tag, the second column is the total number of active accounts that have been tagged with the specified tag, the third column is the total number of active members that have been tagged with the specified tag, and the final column is the percentage of all active accounts that have been tagged with the specified tag.

If you click on any of the numbers in the Members column, you will be taken to a breakdown of each member tagged with the specified tag. The red numbers in the picture above describe: 1) the total number of accounts that have been tagged, 2) the total number of members that have been tagged, and 3) the percentage of all active accounts that have been tagged.

The New Account Tags report shows you a breakdown of how new accounts (those accounts added within the date range specified on the report) have been tagged. This is particularly useful if you’re running a promotion (such as Groupon) and want to see what percentage of your signups have been a result of that promotion:

Like the Tag Counts report, if you click on any of the numbers in the Accounts column, you will be taken to a listing of all new accounts that have been tagged with the specified tag so you can see exactly which accounts were due to a promotion for example.

Similar to the New Account Tags report, the Cancelled Account Tags report shows you a breakdown of how cancelled accounts (those accounts cancelled within the date range specified on the report) have been tagged:

Again, if you click on any of the numbers in the Accounts column, you will be taken to a listing of all cancelled accounts that have been tagged with the specified tag.
